Years ago, I decided to tile my little bathroom in London. How difficult could it be, right? 🙂

I ended up tiling weekends and a few tiles here and there after work in the evenings. It took me about 3 months to complete.  It wasn’t perfect and that was ok. It was my own handy work and I was proud of it. Years later, a friend told me his family was tilers so I asked him how long it would typically take for them to tile such a bathroom. He said “a day”. That was an eye-opener for me. I could have saved myself so much time! Yes, I was happy with the results but looking back, I would have preferred to do something else with the time.

Recently, I decided that my office needed a repaint. Yes, I could have done it myself, but now I’m a bit older and wiser. It took a professional half a day to do it, whereas it would have taken me a lot more time and effort. This time, I was happy to pay!

When I started my first business back in 2010, I tried to do everything myself, and things took ages. With this business, I am much faster to outsource to professionals, as I know it will save me time and money in the long run. This leaves me time and space to focus on what I do best.

Are you still doing your own “tiling”?
