Did you hear me right? Make it hard for yourself? Why on earth would you want to do that? Aren’t we supposed to make things easier for ourselves? That depends on what you are trying to do.

Our family does love a snack or three. We all have our favourites. Sweet potato crisps and chocolate for me and Pear Intense Dark Chocolate for my husband and son. So if these are in the house, they don’t last very long.

Lately, I’ve been working in the evenings getting on US mastermind calls and getting my accounts done. Just as the rest of the family are heading to bed, the chocolate or crisps start calling my name. I know why, it’s because I’m tired and I want a quick boost.

My husband has had the foresight and taken all our snacks into a box and put them in the basement. If they were in the kitchen, they would be inhaled by me at this point and I would get my instant fix. That extra effort involved going down to the basement puts me off and gives me a moment to ask myself if it really serves me to eat that late at night.

Making it hard for ourselves with regards to accessing snacks has been great as we eat far fewer snacks during the week and have them as a treat over the weekend only.

Where could you make things harder for yourself to make things easier for yourself?
