“Calling – A strong inner impulse toward a particular course of action especially when accompanied by conviction of divine influence” – Merriam Webster Dictionary
Last week, I gave a Show me your true calling workshop in Zurich. I guided the participants to scenes in their past where they were in the flow. You know that moment where time doesn’t really exist because you are so into what you are doing.
It was a wonderful experience for me and I believe for the participants too. It served as a good reminder for them what they were passionate about. We put the parallels of the scenes together and figured out what the red threads were. With this knowledge, they can apply it in their lives now, if it wasn’t already a part of it.
It is often useful to spell things out. We know what we love doing and having it verbalized reinforces it. This helps in making decisions more easily because when you know what it is that drives you, you know which direction to take.
I’m also a believer that the right people are in the room for a purpose – there was a lot of good sharing of advice and insights from each other’s scenes to help one another.
What do you need to have in place for you to get into the flow? What is your calling?
