I was recently talking to a client and she had stopped watching Netflix. She had gotten a lot more done than before. I’m a big believer in the multiple action plan where we work on the mindset and beliefs and put practical things in place too.
I think Netflix has some great series and let’s be honest, most of them are highly addictive. That’s how they are written, to keep us watching and clicking Next when the episode finishes.
I love hearing how people handle their Netflix consumption as it gives me ideas for my clients too. Some give themselves a rule to watch max 3 episodes in one sitting, others only if they have done their 3 tasks of the day, some when their partner is around or only on public transport.
Now how far do you take it? We are going to take our TV out of the lounge for a currently undefined period. Our little boy always wants to watch something so we thought we would make it easier for him. It’s cold turkey for a bit. Let’s see if it is sustainable.
If the ground rules don’t work and Netflix is currently running your life, then maybe it’s time to give it a bit of a break. It doesn’t have to be as drastic as cancelling your subscription but something like a 30 day challenge to change the habit that’s built up.
What’s your opinion?
