It wasn’t a belief I subscribed to for a number of reasons. Some people are more productive at different times of the day.
With an active 4-year-old little boy who happily plays into the evening, my evenings are usually pretty packed. I recently work up around 1 am with a number of things swimming in my mind and the best thing for me was to get up and sort through a few. And that meant sending some emails at god knows what time.
The thought about what other people might think however did cross my mind and I thought “That’s ok, they can think whatever they want”. I wasn’t going to write the email and wait until the morning to send it, that felt way more inefficient to me.
Do you ever stop yourself from doing things in fear of what other people might think or say? Don’t give them that power, do what you want to do. If it works for you, then go ahead. There will be plenty of people in your camp and those that aren’t, well, you can’t please everyone.
So, I’m happy to receive emails from you at any time of the day. If it’s early in the morning, I might just respond 😉
