I’m not keen on cleaning. Ok, that’s an understatement. I hate it. It’s one of the most boring tasks ever for me. I have friends that love cleaning and to be honest, I don’t get it.

So for quite a few years, I’ve employed cleaning services. It is one of the best investments I have ever made and will continue to make. Whilst both my husband and I could clean, neither of us are particularly partial to it, so it saves on the “you do this, I do that” type of conversations.

I often talk about outsourcing to virtual assistants wherever possible and this goes along the same line of thought. This increases my quality of life for the better.

It has become increasingly more important now that we have a young son at home. Imagine a little whirlwind going through the flat, books end up everywhere, train tracks, lego (ouch) all over the place. I never imagined that that would happen in my own home but it happens so quickly, you just need to turn your back for a split second and BOOM, there was an explosion in the house.

By having our wonderful cleaning lady come every week, we are “forced” to tidy up so that she can clean. So every week, we start afresh. I cannot tell you how amazing it is to walk into a freshly cleaned flat every week. And it reminds me that it is one of the best investments ever!
