Years ago, I was in the States around Thanksgiving and was invited to celebrate with my friend’s friends. I remember the pumpkin pie the best as that was the first time I had ever tasted it. It was delicious.

Thanksgiving is a holiday in the US that is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of the month, which this year is the 28th November 2019. It’s to celebrate the harvest and the blessings of the past year. In the States, it feels like it’s a big holiday, similar to how we would celebrate Christmas in the UK. People often go home and celebrate it with their families.

This year has been a rather tough year with quite a few health issues with our parents and close friends, so I am grateful for my family’s health and that they are being treated and looked after. There’s a lot to be thankful for, things I often take for granted with things like Facetime and Whatsapp, bringing us closer to them even though we live in different countries. We have wonderful friends and people around supporting us through all the ups and downs. I have a very loving husband and son. I love the work I do and my clients.

With gratitude, it makes us realise just how lucky we are. Sure, they may be tough things happening but I am sure it’s possible to find something to be thankful for.

What are you thankful for?
