As I was driving through town, a local restaurant’s sign caught my eye. I totally agree that life is too short to eat tasteless soup!
If you think about it, life is too short for many things. Life is too short for doing a job you don’t love. Life is too short to be miserable. Life is too short to live with regrets.
Essentially life is too short to do anything you don’t want to do. I know it’s easier said than done but the first part is acknowledging that you don’t like something because then you can start thinking of ways to change this. Change can happen instantly or take a while but as long as there is the intention to make a change, it will happen.
Are there things you wished you would have done? At one of our Show up and Step up programs, a 70-year-old participant realised that she had an unfulfilled dream of setting up a school. She thought she had left it too late and she regretted not having done it. The group helped her realise that it was never too late. In her mind, a school was a certain way, a school building with lots of children. It didn’t have to be like that and once she realised that she had had a fixed way of thinking, she immediately made a change.
The next week, she setup a Kitchen Table school, teaching 3 children things they don’t learn in school. Change can happen in an instant.
