“I’ve got so many things I want to do – I don’t know where to start”
As an entrepreneur, the wonderful thing is, you can choose the direction your company goes in. Sometimes, it can be overwhelming because there’s many possible paths and therefore too much choice. There’s also no one around to stop you so often I hear people end up doing nothing.
If you find yourself in this situation, one thing you can do is to give yourself a list of criteria, line up the things you want to do and rate them in a matrix (1). For example, let’s say you are thinking of writing a book, starting a podcast or doing some videos. Your criteria could be something like which type of work you have experience with, what are you most passionate about or which you feel has the most impact. These are just some ideas; you make the criteria that are relevant for you.
Then you can start rating each of your projects and go with the one with the highest rating. Now it’s time to focus on this for the next 3 months.
It doesn’t mean that you won’t do the other things; you park them for the time being. Imagine putting them on a shelf and you can come back to them in 3 months time to reevaluate the situation.
Start parking projects, give yourself space and move forward in your business.
